Renewing a once proud tradition, thirteen licensed craft distillers are now producing in New York State.  The Hudson Valley hosts four.  Stoutridge Vineyard, in southern Ulster County and Tuthilltown Spirits in Gardiner are within spittin' distance of the Emerald Forest.  For the locavore, there are a few farmers' markets open every so often through the winter in Rosendale(January 3 & February 7) and New Paltz (2nd Saturday of the month).  Try your hand at squash soup, pumpkin bread or roasted root vegetables.
